The Protein Society of Thailand is pleased to announce the 2026 Professor M.R. Jisnuson Svasti Young Protein Scientist of Thailand Award is to be given jointly to Associate Professor Dr. Panupong Mahalapbutr of the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, and Associate Professor Dr. Nopphon Weeranoppanant of the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, for their outstanding research and contributions to the development of protein science in Thailand.

The Young PST Award is presented every two years to young scientists (under 40 at the beginning of the year) who have published excellent research and contributed to protein science at their institutions and more broadly in Thailand. Dr. Panupong Mahalpbutr has used computational and experimental methods to investigate ligand binding to protein targets for drug discovery and development. Dr. Nopphon Weeranoppanant has investigated biocatalytic processes from an engineering perspective, integrating protein immobilization strategies with reaction engineering techniques. The Protein Society of Thailand is proud to honor these outstanding scientists.

The awards and honorary lectures by the awardees will be presented at the 20^th International Symposium of the Protein Society of Thailand to be held at Mandarin Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, on August 5-7, 2026.
